10 Campfire Games For Adults

Naturally, some games aren’t appropriate for all ages, and some games that are a lot of fun for small children won’t be nearly as fun for a group of adults. As you prepare for a camping trip, it’s a good idea to plan out games to use that are appropriate for the group you’re camping with. If you’re camping with adults, or plan to have some adult time after the kids retire to their tents, then take a look at these 10 campfire games for adults.

10 campfire games for adults

1. Cards Against Humanity

It seems like no adult party is complete without this game, and it’s even more fun around a campfire. Get ready for hours of laughter!

2. 21

A deceptively simple drinking game: you start at one, and go around the circle counting to 21. Each player can say one, two, or three numbers- one number keeps the circle going in the same direction, two numbers reverses the direction of play back to the previous person, three skips a person. Get it wrong and you take a drink and start back at 1.

3. Never Have I Ever

You can play this with kids, but it’s so much more fun as an adult drinking game. You say “never have I ever…” and name something you’ve never done (trying especially to name something embarrassing that someone else around the fire has done) and everyone who’s done that thing takes a drink. I’ve seen movies include this game into the adult interactions more than once.

4. Hiking Stick Limbo

You can use a hiking stick, or, for extra fun, you can use a stick you find around the campsite since these are rarely symmetrical. From there on, it’s just regular limbo; using a found stick adds some fun to it since they aren’t usually straight.

5. Two Truths and a Lie

In this adult campfire game you tell the group three things about yourself, two of which are true and one is a lie, and they try to guess which one is the lie. If they guess right, you take a drink, if they can’t guess it, everyone else has to drink.

6. Hide and Go Scare

This adult game starts off like Hide and Go Seek, but the goal is to scare each other. Hiders can scare seekers, the seeker can scare people who are hiding, etc.

7. Glow in the Dark Frisbee

A great, low-key way to pass the time at night, you can play any frisbee game in the dark with a glow in the dark frisbee or an LED light-up frisbee. You might not want to include a lot of drinking in this game, or someone could get hurt.

8. True Story

You need dice for this game because you’re going to roll a die and if it’s even, you tell a true story, if it’s odd you make one up. Everyone else has to guess if you’re telling the truth or not; you can make this a drinking game, but with or without alcohol this is one of the best adult campfire games.

9. Do or Drink

This game is kinda like truth or dare, except without the truth part. Do what you’re dared to do, or take a drink.

10. Catchphrase Uncensored

Regular catchphrase is already a game best suited to adults, since kids just won’t know a lot of the words. Catchphrase uncensored is definitely for adults only, and there’s a mix of off-the-wall phrases that are fairly innocent (“silent but deadly” and “pee in the pool”) along with some that are in the “not safe for work” category.
